Oils to Help Prevent Lung Cancer

According to the American Lung Association’s 2018 report, lung cancer was the most common cancer in the world with 2.1 million new cases and and the cause of 1.8 million deaths in 2018. In America, the five-year survival rate for lung cancer is around 56 percent when it is in the early stages, but only 5 percent when it has spread to other areas of the body.

Experts say that following a healthy lifestyle with regular physical activity, adequate water consumption, and breathing clean and fresh air is a must to prevent this disease. Here are some oils that replenish and detoxify the body from carcinogens and cellular damage and residue:

  • Fish oil
    Fish have stores of omega-3 from eating algae and planktons in the ocean. Salmon, herring, tuna, sardines, mackerel, and other fatty fish are foods that help prevent lung cancer as they high reserves of omega-3 fatty acids, which act as antioxidants.
